The flipped classroom concept is when videos can replace lectures at home and then the students can come to class with things to talk about and questions that they have. I think this is a great way for students to learn. Students can watch these lectures at home and take notes. This helps them to prepare more for class the next day and ask questions on what they are confused about. The teachers do not have to lecture to the students and therefore, it gives them more time to answer questions and explain things that students did not understand.
Open educational resources are very helpful for students in school. This helps students pay for textbooks and other needs that students cannot afford to have. OER's have become very popular among many places. This also helps schools that cannot afford technology to be able to get it.

I really liked how I could incorporate buttons onto my PowerPoint to go to the next or previous slide. I did not like how you had to go back and hyperlink each button to each different slide. This makes it take a lot longer to do to because you have to set each one. I really liked using PowerPoint and getting a better understanding of how to use many of its applications.

I have used Microsoft Word for a long time as a student. I started using it when I was in elementary school. I used it a lot in high school when I had to write papers as well as in college so far. It has been very helpful when writing papers and having to make resume's and many other things. My teachers also use Word a lot. Many of them use it when doing their lectures or even assigning things and putting the directions on a word document. It has been a huge help with me being a student and also for my teachers using it for many different things. I think a very important thing for a student is citing your sources no matter what. I have been a student for a very long time and even if I use just one sentence from another source I always make sure to cite it. I think plagiarism is a big issue with students these day and I think the issue with this needs to be addressed more. GICA 1: Blog Setup

Hello my name is Emmy! I am majoring in elementary education because I love kids! I hope to be a 3rd grade teacher in the future. I also love hanging out with my friends and family. My favorite food is tacos! I have had two prior experiences with technology! The first was a computer class I took my sophomore year of high school. We learned all about PowerPoint and Word. The second class I took my senior year of high school. We learned all about how to make apps and websites! I really enjoyed taking both classes. I hope to learn more about Word, Excel and PowerPoint because I use these in my every day life. I think it would be helpful to know all about these especially when I become a teacher and will really need this. In college I use Word for every class, especially English when I am writing papers so I hope to learn even more about Word. I really like technology so I am very excited for what is to come in this class and to be able to learn more things that I never knew!!
