I have really enjoyed working with diigo. I think this is a great thing to have especially for when I become a teacher. I can use this for lesson plans and annotate what I like and do not like. I can write notes on what I would like to expand on more. This is a great way to easily annotate things on the internet.
PowerPoint is one of my favorite things to use when creating things, especially if I wanted to create a lesson and project it for the kids. I can create a PowerPoint with lots of visuals for those who like to see things because it helps them learn better. Also being able to explain and show the students from PowerPoint will help them analyze the information and remember it better. It can also help them understand concepts more if I can explain it to them and they can see it displayed and be able to follow along.
I think technology can improve teacher professional development tremendously. Technology can help us create lessons for students and help us out with lectures by displaying pictures and examples of what we are leaning on the computer. We can also create online quizzes and activities for them to do at home. The website below has many different ways on how teachers can stay up to date with technology trends. I have used Microsoft Word for a long time as a student. I started using it when I was in elementary school. I used it a lot in high school when I had to write papers as well as in college so far. It has been very helpful when writing papers and having to make resume's and many other things. My teachers also use Word a lot. Many of them use it when doing their lectures or even assigning things and putting the directions on a word document. It has been a huge help with me being a student and also for my teachers using it for many different things. I think a very important thing for a student is citing your sources no matter what. I have been a student for a very long time and even if I use just one sentence from another source I always make sure to cite it. GICA 1: Blog Setup

Hello my name is Emmy! I am majoring in elementary education because I love kids! I hope to be a 3rd grade teacher in the future. I also love hanging out with my friends and family. My favorite food is tacos! I have had two prior experiences with technology! The first was a computer class I took my sophomore year of high school. We learned all about PowerPoint and Word. The second class I took my senior year of high school. We learned all about how to make apps and websites! I really enjoyed taking both classes. I hope to learn more about Word, Excel and PowerPoint because I use these in my every day life. I think it would be helpful to know all about these especially when I become a teacher and will really need this. In college I use Word for every class, especially English when I am writing papers so I hope to learn even more about Word. I really like technology so I am very excited for what is to come in this class and to be able to learn more things that I never knew!!
