When I first downloaded twitter five years ago, I didn't know what it was really about. Everyone at school was talking about how great it was, so of course I had to check it out. I never really went on it a lot because it was just tweets from my friends tweeting about their day or trying to be funny. I didn't really like it until about a year or two ago when it became super popular and really funny memes on twitter would make my day a whole lot better, but I also went on there for news and to see what is going on in the sports world. Tweets actually keep me up to date on things going on in the world today. Twitter could be helpful in my future career because it could be helpful when seeing what other schools around me are up to and seeing their tweets and also reading the news about what is going on in the classroom around the country.
The digital divide is typically when students who go to schools who cannot afford to have great technology and other things in their school compared to those who do go to schools that have it all. This might affect students success because in today's world most schools educate their students through some form of technology, whether that be lecturing with Word or a PowerPoint, or students going to a computer class and learning different ways to study for things and do projects online. If a student does not have access to technology they will not be able to learn all of this. Some causes of the digital divide might be that the school is just not funded enough money for great technology or not enough students attend the school, making it not raise enough money. This could affect my teaching experience because I really like to use technology, especially when doing school work and I know that I would want technology to teach my students, so it would be hard not having it.
I think academic software is very important for teachers and students. I use academic softwares every day as a students and I wouldn't be able to do a lot of things without it. Two software tools that I would like to use in the classroom would be Microsoft Word and PowerPoint. I use these regularly in my life as a student and they are great resources. I would use Word in my classroom so students can write reflections, paragraphs, and papers on it and also add pictures and word art to make it more fun! I would use PowerPoint for my lecture because that is what my teachers do now and it is really helpful for all different types of learners. I can also share these PowerPoints with the students so they can follow along while I teach it to them.

I think Excel is great for teachers. It can easily help them to average grades, see if students are passing or failing, find out the minimum and maximum of grades and much more. I really like using Excel and I think it will be very useful when I become a teacher. Excel is great for many different things to do as a teacher. I really liked the topic on PowerPoints. Blog Journal 5

I really liked Diigo. I liked how I could read the article and annotate it. I also liked that we could put comments on things that we highlighted. I did not like how we have to download it and have to have chrome for it to be applicable. The app is overall a great thing to have for teachers and students when needing to annotate an article. I have not really had any past experiences with blogging. I have liked blogging because I can share my experience on here. I do not like how the format of writing a blog is because sometimes it gets confusing. I have learned about a lot of programs that I have to write about that I never knew about. An interesting web 2.0 tool to me is Google Classroom. I think this a great way for students to be able to access assignments and take online quizzes. I can assign students quizzes and assignments and they can easily take them while I watch them in the classroom. This is a great way for me and the students to be able to easily access assignments.

Blog Journal 2

I have used Microsoft Word for a long time as a student. I started using it when I was in elementary school. I used it a lot in high school when I had to write papers as well as in college so far. It has been very helpful when writing papers and having to make resume's and many other things. My teachers also use Word a lot. Many of them use it when doing their lectures or even assigning things and putting the directions on a word document. It has been a huge help with me being a student and also for my teachers using it for many different things. I think a very important thing for a student is citing your sources no matter what. I have been a student for a very long time and even if I use just one sentence from another source I always make sure to cite it. I think plagiarism is a big issue with students these day and I think the issue with this needs to be addressed more.
